Saving Private Ryan (1998)

Izzy has gone big this week and selected a true war epic in Steven Spielberg's Saving Private Ryan (1998), portraying a squad of U.S. Army soldiers on a perilous assignment behind enemy lines. The mission: to risk their lives to save the life of one man, paratrooper James Ryan. Ryan is the last survivor of a family of four brothers, the rest of whom have been killed in action. You mentioned this possibly being the first and last mentioning of Vin Diesel in your reviews. I would however strongly urge you both to see Sidney Lumet’s penultimate film Find Me Guilty. It stars Diesel in another atypical performance where he plays a rather mellow, reasonable mafioso who decides to defend himself in court over a steep drug charge. Good wig work in this too lol.
